Rising Star of the Year (FOH or BOH) - 2022

This category recognizes individuals who are “rising stars” within your organization. They should display exceptional talent, character, and leadership ability, and who are likely to make a significant impact in years to come. They should be FOH or BOH, to include Operations (Chefs and Owners excluded). We are looking to celebrate the next-generation of professionals and future leaders of the catering industry.

This category is for a body of work produced over 12 months in the catering industry. This entry should include the
Caterer’s body of work from January 1, 2020 – December 31, 2021. This entry is not anonymous.

1. Compose a synopsis (750-word maximum) describing why the nominee deserves to be Rising Star of the Year based on their contributions over the time period of January 1, 2020 through December 31, 2021.

2. The candidate for Rising Star of the Year should provide detailed examples that showcase measurable accomplishments of the individual that would constitute a major contribution to their company or the industry in general. Answer the four questions below (1000-word maximum) and include supporting collateral, i.e., photos, SOPs created by candidate, client letters.

• What is something you did to elevate a process or event at your company?
• What is an example of an innovation at your company that you initiated and drove forward?
• What is an example of superior customer service?
• What is an example of a challenging situation at your company that with your skills and leadership you were able to rectify and improve?

Photographs- Maximum number of photos is 20 and they must be at least 300 dpi at 8x10. A collage may be used and counts as one image. Name & Date of the event(s) of the photograph must be included.

• Awards, accolades, press, etc. from candidate
• Any extracurricular activities documentation
• Letter of Recommendation from direct manager and from one employee.

CATIES Official Rules

By submitting an entry, each entrant agrees to the official rules and warrants that his or her entry complies with all requirements in the official rules.

By entering the Contest, entrant represents, acknowledges, and warrants that the submitted photographs/images are an original work created solely by the entrant, that the images do not infringe on the copyrights, trademarks, rights of privacy/publicity or intellectual property rights of any person or entity, and that no other party has any right, title, claim, or interest in the images.

If the images contain any material or elements that are not owned by the entrant and/or which are subject to the rights of third parties, and/or if any persons appear in the images, the entrant is responsible for obtaining, prior to submission of the image, any and all releases and consents necessary to permit the exhibition and use of the photograph by ICA without compensation.

Winners will be chosen by ICA or judges selected by ICA, in their sole discretion. Winners will be notified by ICA. All decisions by ICA and/or the judges are final and binding. By entering the Contest, all entrants grant an irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide non-exclusive, royalty-free license to ICA, to reproduce, distribute, display and otherwise use the images in connection with the Contest and promotion of the Contest, in any media now or hereafter known. Additionally, by entering, each entrant grants to ICA the unrestricted right to use all statements made in connection with the Contest, and the names, personal data, pictures or likenesses of Contest entrants, or choose not to do so, in its sole discretion.
